Field Service Technician – Electrician

About the role

Air Liquide Australia is seeking a trade‑qualified QLD Electrician to join its Customer Installations team in Mackay. You will work across Central Queensland, providing on‑site preventative maintenance, rapid breakdown response, and technical repairs on gas reticulation systems and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on gas reticulation systems, control panels and customer installations.
• Respond to emergency service calls, diagnose electrical faults and perform high‑quality repairs with minimal re‑work.
• Maintain and preserve company assets, escalating complex technical issues to regional engineers.
• Participate in a fortnightly weekend on‑call roster, ensuring continuous customer supply and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Current Queensland Electrical Licence and a valid state driver’s licence (MR class preferred).
• Strong safety commitment, customer‑site service experience and willingness to join a 7‑day on‑call roster per month.
• Full Australian working rights and current mine site inductions (e.g., Standard 11).

Required skills

• Electrical fault diagnosis and corrective action planning.
• Preventative maintenance of gas reticulation and control systems.
• Experience with rotating equipment, industrial air compressors, instrumentation and automated systems.
• High‑risk tickets such as forklift, elevated work platform, confined space and rigging licences.
