Engineering Geologist

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an Engineering Geologist to support a range of high‑profile infrastructure projects across Western Australia. You will apply your knowledge of local geology and geotechnical investigation to deliver safe, sustainable designs for transportation, defence, mining, renewable energy and marine infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct geological and geomorphological site assessments and produce geotechnical recommendations.
• Plan, coordinate and manage field investigations, delivering high‑quality reports on schedule.
• Prepare health and safety documentation for site inspections and investigations.
• Develop 3D ground models using geological modelling software.
• Provide design recommendations for foundations, slopes, earthworks and other geotechnical structures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, drafters and multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge and broaden skills.
• Contribute to Ground and Underground Engineering initiatives and digital strategy projects.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Western Australian geology with experience in detailed site reconnaissance and mapping.
• Proven experience planning, managing and executing geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock logging to AS 1726:2017.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering geology, civil or geotechnical engineering.
• Commitment to health and safety and strict adherence to HSE procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
