Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians – Maintenance & Shutdown

About the role

EnerMech is seeking experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technicians for upcoming maintenance, shutdown and turnaround projects at major industrial sites in the Gladstone region. The role involves ensuring reliable operation of instrumentation and electrical systems while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Calibrate, test and commission field instruments.
• Fault find and troubleshoot control systems and instrumentation equipment.
• Execute shutdown and turnaround activities, including loop checks and functional testing.
• Maintain transmitters, analyzers, valves and associated instrumentation.
• Support plant reliability and operational performance while following site safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or Electrical/Instrumentation Trade Qualification.
• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence (where applicable).
• Current LVR/CPR certification and White Card.
• Previous experience in heavy industry, LNG, mining, power generation, manufacturing or chemical processing.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment medicals and drug & alcohol screening.

Required skills

• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLC, DCS or SCADA systems.
• Calibration, testing and commissioning of instrumentation.
• Hazardous Area (EEHA) qualifications, Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Gas Testing.
• Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation (highly regarded).
