Electrical Engineer – Solar

About the role

Perdaman Advanced Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the technical design and delivery of large‑scale solar and hybrid renewable energy projects across Australia. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high‑performance electrical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare electrical engineering calculations, single‑line diagrams, cable schedules, protection studies, and technical specifications.
• Design and integrate LV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and grid‑connection infrastructure.
• Validate solar PV layouts, equipment selection, and system performance for commercial projects.
• Support grid‑connection applications, testing, commissioning, and compliance activities.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Monitor project progress, identify technical risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Assist with contract negotiation, cost monitoring, and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Ability to produce detailed electrical design documentation and calculations.
• Experience reviewing and validating solar PV system designs.
• Familiarity with Australian electrical standards and statutory regulations.
• Strong coordination skills with internal and external engineering, commercial, and HSE teams.
