DevOps Engineer – Melbourne (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a globally recognised product house, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their Melbourne team. You will own the platform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling, working closely with developers to enable fast and reliable releases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise production Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS environments for reliability and scalability.
• Own CI/CD pipelines built on Buildkite and GitHub Actions, ensuring safe and rapid code delivery.
• Design and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and Helm across AWS and Cloudflare.
• Build observability solutions in Datadog, including SLO definition, distributed tracing and impact‑based alerting.
• Create self‑service tools and platform capabilities that reduce friction for development teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering with end‑to‑end infrastructure ownership.
• 2+ years managing production Kubernetes clusters, preferably Amazon EKS.
• Strong AWS knowledge covering ECS, IAM, VPC, RDS, Lambda and S3.
• Hands‑on experience authoring Terraform modules for multiple environments.
• Proven ability to design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Observability mindset with experience troubleshooting production issues using monitoring tools.
