Specialist Technician – Systems Engineer for School ICT

About the role

Bytewize is looking for highly experienced Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to provide technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). The role involves managing and maintaining ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools, supporting staff and students in technology‑driven learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks and server environments.
• Provide ICT support services in large, technology‑driven learning environments.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in senior‑level ICT support.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (citizen, PR, or permanent visa).
• Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo police and background checks.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and organisational skills.

• Hyper‑V virtualisation administration
• Windows and Linux server administration
• Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 cloud service administration
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment and administration
• Advanced enterprise networking (Cisco & HP switching)
• Cisco wireless technologies (controllers, APs)
• Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and image deployment with advanced troubleshooting
• Support for large fleets of desktops and notebooks
• 1:1 and BYOD device planning, deployment and management
• Technical documentation

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rata) AUD per year
