Datacenter IT Technician Trainee – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

Join Amazon’s Data Centre Operations team in Sydney as a Datacenter IT Technician Trainee. Over a six‑month fixed‑term contract you will gain hands‑on experience maintaining the world’s largest computing infrastructure, working alongside logistics, networking, security and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot hardware and related problems.
• Conduct basic operating system and configuration troubleshooting.
• Replace faulty parts and devices, including servers and networking equipment.
• Carry out storage media (HDD, SSD) sanitisation and destruction tasks.
• Follow DC operations, logistics, security and safety processes and guidelines.
• Maintain high system reliability by efficiently resolving trouble tickets.

Required profile

• Knowledge of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, servers) and its configurations.
• Basic IT troubleshooting experience.
• Physical ability to lift and rack equipment using lifting tools.
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle for site travel.
