Construction Supervisor – Renewable Energy Project

About the role

APA is seeking a Construction Supervisor to lead the on‑site delivery of the Sybella Creek Renewable Facility in Mt Isa. This is a hands‑on, site‑based position working a 2‑weeks‑on, 1‑week‑off roster, responsible for overseeing the EPC contractor through construction, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safe, compliant and timely delivery of construction activities in line with the EPC contract and APA governance.
• Set and model strong HSE and quality standards, managing contractor performance and construction interfaces.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering, commercial, HSE and project controls to support risk, schedule and cost reviews.
• Provide hands‑on site management, technical oversight and support for commissioning and handover.
• Assist with contract administration and commercial matters within delegated authority.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in a hybrid power‑station environment integrating solar, battery and conventional generation.
• Strong understanding of EPC delivery models, construction sequencing and complex interface management.
• Confidence interpreting contracts, specifications, schedules and quality documentation.
• Clear, credible communication and ability to work within matrixed teams.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a sharp eye for detail and risk mitigation.
