Community Support Worker - Shoalhaven

About the role

CatholicCare Wollongong is recruiting Community Support Workers to deliver personal care, domestic assistance, medication support and social and respite services to aged care and NDIS participants in their own homes and community across the Shoalhaven region. Permanent part-time positions are available with flexible days and hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and grooming support tailored to each participant's needs
• Assist with domestic tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation and shopping
• Support accurate medication administration as prescribed by a medical professional
• Provide social support and respite within participants' homes and communities
• Document participant wellbeing and report significant changes to the care team

Required profile

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent (desirable) - completed or working towards; fee-free course options may be available
• Genuine commitment to supporting people with a disability and/or who are ageing
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current NSW driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
• Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check
• Desirable: experience in aged care or disability settings, experience with CALD backgrounds, fluency in another language

What we offer

• Pay of $31.13-$34.59 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, plus travel time between clients and KM reimbursement
