Communications Officer

About the role

The Communications Officer will join the Protective Services Group’s Central Operations Room, providing essential communication support, alarm monitoring and liaison with internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures rapid, accurate information flow to protect staff, officers and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑level customer service to external clients and Protective Services Officers through clear communication and swift response.
• Monitor and respond to alarms in line with legislation, policies and procedures.
• Operate specialised security monitoring systems, ensuring data entered is accurate and complete.
• Monitor radio channels, follow correct radio procedures and support mobile and static patrols.
• Create and dispatch patrol tasks in consultation with the supervisor.
• Liaise with emergency services, government agencies and other stakeholders with professionalism and integrity.
• Adhere to information security procedures to protect confidential information.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Protective Services Officers and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
