Commis Chef - Breakfast Service

About the role

Hotel Chadstone Melbourne MGallery, a five-star luxury MGallery property near Melbourne's city centre and the Chadstone shopping precinct, is looking for a Commis Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis, specialising in breakfast service. You will work alongside experienced chefs to prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast for hotel guests. The position suits candidates with unrestricted working rights in Australia; sponsorship is not provided.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes to a high standard, with consistent quality and presentation
• Assist with daily mise en place and make sure ingredients are ready for service
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked workstation
• Follow food safety, hygiene and storage procedures
• Work closely with the kitchen team for a smooth, efficient breakfast service
• Monitor food quality and presentation
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and stock control as required

Required profile

• Previous kitchen experience, ideally in a hotel or busy breakfast environment
• A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent experience
• Availability for 5:30am starts, including weekends and public holidays as rostered
• Reliable transport to the hotel for early morning shifts
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia (no sponsorship offered)
