Chemist Technician – Analytical Laboratory

About the role

SGS is seeking an experienced Chemist Technician to join a client site in Darwin, supporting high‑performance laboratory operations for a major industrial operation. The role involves analytical testing, process monitoring and continuous improvement while working with advanced instrumentation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct analytical testing on process, environmental and utility samples, including LNG product custody transfer.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instrumentation such as chromatography, titration, UV/Vis spectrophotometry and ICP.
• Manage laboratory records, calibration data and test results within the LIMS system and generate reports and trend analyses.
• Collect and handle samples safely from hydrocarbon gas and liquid streams and act as a technical resource for sampling investigations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven laboratory experience with understanding of quality systems and analytical methodologies.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and LIMS.
