About the role

Pier One Sydney Harbour, a five-star hotel under the Sydney Harbour Bridge with 189 rooms and suites, is looking for a Chef de Partie. The role suits both experienced professionals and newcomers eager to learn and grow, in a fast-paced environment where service is delivered with personality and style.

Key responsibilities

• Manage kitchen operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures.
• Estimate daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicate them to kitchen staff daily.
• Assist the Head and Sous Chef with kitchen operations and preparations.
• Prepare and cook dishes regularly, and for special guests or functions.
• Help determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
• Maintain purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
• Train employees in safety procedures.

Required profile

• Trade industry qualification or completion of a Commercial Cookery qualification.
• Relevant experience in a similar role.
• Working rights in Australia.
• Enthusiasm to advance their career, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced setting.
