Chaplain – Australian Air Force (Travel Opportunities)

About the role

The Australian Air Force is seeking compassionate individuals to serve as Chaplains. This officer position offers the chance to provide spiritual and pastoral support to service members and their families while gaining leadership experience and travel opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver spiritual, religious, and pastoral care to ADF personnel and families.
• Advise command on matters of morale, ethics, culture, and character formation.
• Promote inclusiveness and respect for diverse faiths, philosophies, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
• Collaborate with religious leaders from all faith groups both in Australia and overseas.
• Serve as a staff advisor, offering alternate perspectives on personnel concerns.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and minimum age of 17 at enlistment.
• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in theology, ministry, pastoral care, or chaplaincy.
• Completed units in pastoral counselling skills and theory.
• Ability to work within a multi‑faith chaplaincy team.
