Casual Dental Assistant - Gladstone

About the role

Abano Healthcare is looking for friendly, motivated and adaptable casual dental assistants to support dentists chairside at 1300SMILES Gladstone and The Dental Centre Gladstone Central. Both practices provide general and restorative dentistry, with orthodontics also available at the central location. Shifts vary by practice need and leave coverage, and applicants must be available full days Monday to Saturday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide confident chairside assistance across a broad range of dental procedures
• Prepare surgeries and anticipate clinicians' needs throughout treatment
• Keep appointments running efficiently and support clinical workflow
• Maintain high standards of sterilisation and infection control
• Manage clinical stock, equipment and surgery organisation
• Help patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their treatment
• Take ownership of tasks and use initiative during busy periods
• Work collaboratively with wider practice teams to deliver excellent patient care

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded
• Ability to anticipate needs, prioritise tasks and stay organised in a busy practice
• Calm, capable approach when things do not go to plan
• Confidence to share knowledge and support less experienced team members
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
