Balance Sheet Trading Specialist

About the role

The Balance Sheet Trading Specialist joins the Global Business Unit Control team within Market and Treasury Financial Control (MTFC). The role ensures financial control processes are executed accurately and that the balance‑sheet trading function complies with the MTFC framework and Group policies.

Key responsibilities

• Execute financial control processes and ensure adherence to the end‑to‑end controllership model.
• Validate and recognise P&L, support regulatory returns and attestations.
• Perform P&L attribution and provide performance explanations to senior management.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through substantiation, commentary and regular validation.
• Liaise daily with trading and sales stakeholders across Markets to deliver control outcomes.
• Supervise daily and periodic balance‑sheet trading tasks performed by MTFC colleagues in Manila, including P&L production/review and balance‑sheet validation.
• Collaborate with teams in Australia, Singapore and Manila to ensure consistent control standards.

Required profile

• Experience in financial control or accounting within a markets or treasury environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L validation, balance‑sheet substantiation and regulatory reporting.
• Familiarity with MTFC framework procedures, Group financial accounting policies and related controls.
• Ability to work with senior management and cross‑regional business stakeholders.
