5-Day IHC Educator for 7-Year-Old (ECEC)

About the role

A family in Sellicks Beach is looking for a warm, reliable and engaging educator to care for their 7-year-old child five days a week. The role suits someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and can bring fun, routine, independence and everyday life skills into their time together. During school holidays, the family would like someone flexible enough to increase their hours to full days, with plenty of outings, activities and adventures.

Key responsibilities

• Help with breakfast and getting ready for the school day
• Handle school drop-offs and pick-ups
• Prepare an afternoon snack and transport to afternoon activities when required
• Support and supervise homework
• Prepare dinner and help with the evening routine
• Plan fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities and encourage practical life skills, independence and confidence

Required profile

• Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care or another IHC-relevant ACECQA-approved qualification such as a Bachelor of Primary Education, registered with the relevant state authority
• At least 3 references
• WWCC, police check, CPR and HLTAID012 First Aid
• Car and driver's licence; comfortable around a large dog
• Willingness to commit for at least 12 months and full working rights in Australia (visas 190 and 186 may be considered)

What we offer

• Pay of $41.94-$47.28 per hour including tax and super, depending on level L1-L3
• Insurance and workcover costs covered by the employer, who also handles tax and super payments
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30-8:30 am and 3:15-8:00 pm, with flexible times; the educator can take both shifts or just the afternoon
