Underground Operator – Development

About the role

Anglo American is hiring multiple Underground Operators for the Development team at Moranbah North Mine in Queensland. Reporting to the Development Superintendent, you will work safely and efficiently to help the mine achieve zero‑harm goals while maximising production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a variety of underground mining equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and productive mining environment and apply statutory obligations.
• Deliver specified hourly production targets.
• Collaborate with on‑shift peers to ensure high safety and productivity standards.
• Assist with equipment maintenance activities as required.
• Apply Anglo American’s Safety & Health Management System and Golden Rules uniformly.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of underground coal mining operational experience (desirable).
• Demonstrated understanding of underground coal mining processes and relevant legislation.
• Proven ability to work within a team to meet production targets.
• Professional work ethic with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Operation of underground mining equipment.
• Knowledge of coal mining processes and machinery.
