Systems Engineer

About the role

ResMed is seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Devices Systems team in Sydney. You will help shape the next generation of sleep‑therapy devices, guiding products from concept through verification and regulatory submission.

Key responsibilities

• Translate user, clinical, business and regulatory needs into system requirements, risk assessments and technical solutions.
• Create, maintain and support traceability of requirements using a requirements‑management tool.
• Collaborate with software, algorithm, electronics, mechanical, verification and clinical teams to develop integrated system solutions.
• Evaluate design options, perform trade‑offs and recommend solutions to senior engineers.
• Support verification and validation activities and participate in system risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and systems thinking.
• Methodical approach to analysing technical problems and clear communication skills.
• Willingness to learn medical‑device regulations, standards and quality systems.

Required skills

• Experience with engineering development tools such as JIRA, Jama or Confluence.
