Senior ESG Assurance Consultant

About the role

Join KPMG’s Climate Change and Sustainability services team in Sydney as a Senior Consultant focused on ESG assurance. You will help leading Australian organisations strengthen the rigor and robustness of their ESG data collection, measurement and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of ESG advisory services for large Australian and ESG‑focused companies.
• Lead and execute ESG assurance projects, including planning, risk assessment, testing and reporting.
• Analyse ESG data, measurement methodologies and benchmark performance against international standards.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong assurance background with experience in planning, risk assessment and reporting.
• High‑level written and verbal communication skills for senior‑level engagements.
• Passion for sustainability and ESG issues.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and develop client relationships.
• Tertiary qualification in science, engineering or commerce.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GRI, SDGs, UNPRI, TCFD, GRESB, SASB, NGER, ERF, CDP.
• Familiarity with ISAE and ASAE auditing standards.
