Project Design Leader – Building Engineering

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project/Design Leader for its national Building Engineering team in Perth. You will lead multidisciplinary building services projects, overseeing design and commercial delivery from inception to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, multidisciplinary projects, coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Hydraulic and other engineering disciplines.
• Define scope, manage design inputs, conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with client requirements, programme and budget.
• Manage project delivery, including programme, financial performance, resourcing, risk and change management.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, providing practical advice and resolving technical challenges.
• Contribute to business growth through client engagement, proposals and work‑winning activities.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in Building Engineering with a strong technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Hydraulic or related discipline.
• Relevant engineering qualification; Chartered status is highly regarded.
• Proven experience in design management, project management and commercial/contract management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
