Project Administrator – Rail & Metro

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Project Administrator to join SMEC’s Brisbane Rail & Metro team. In this role you will support engineers and the wider project team by handling documentation, bids, financial tracking and general administrative tasks, helping deliver high‑profile infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and submission of bids and proposals.
• Support financial functions including resource forecasts, invoicing and monthly reporting.
• Prepare, coordinate and distribute project documents, reports and presentations.
• Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the local team.
• Establish and maintain project control systems, quality assurance, WHS and document‑control procedures in line with SMEC policies.

Required profile

• Minimum four years’ experience in a similar administrative role, preferably on infrastructure projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
