Principal Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Buildings & Places team in Sydney is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and delivery on defence and data‑centre projects. You will work across multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and delivery for major client projects, including technical reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform quality control on calculations and drawings.
• Collaborate within multi‑disciplinary engineering teams and contribute to interdisciplinary project reviews.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in building services consultancy or senior mechanical services engineering.
• Proven design experience in HVAC/mechanical engineering for defence and data‑centre projects.
• Australian citizenship (defence clearance highly regarded) and a BEng in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
