Pharmacist – Manufacturing Services (Part‑Time)

About the role

Western Health is seeking experienced pharmacists to join its Manufacturing Services team on a permanent part‑time basis. The role supports the preparation and delivery of compounded medicines, including chemotherapy, across multiple Western Health sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, provide and support manufacturing pharmacy services for patients receiving specialised therapies.
• Apply clinical pharmacy knowledge to ensure safe manufacturing practices and provide clinical information within scope of practice.
• Participate in risk assessments for storage, handling and compounding of medicines, ensuring compliance with legislative and practice standards.
• Provide medication information to medical, nursing and allied health staff, as well as patients and carers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective service delivery.
• Review and improve personal work practices within pharmacy manufacturing services.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of aseptic and non‑sterile compounding, clinical pharmacy and relevant standards/guidelines.
• Strong problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management abilities to meet manufacturing service demands.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience in medication evaluations and quality‑assurance activities.
