Leading Hand Boilermaker – Shutdown & Maintenance Projects

About the role

EnerMech is seeking experienced Leading Hand Boilermakers to join its talent pool for upcoming shutdown, turnaround and maintenance campaigns across mining, mineral processing, ports and heavy industrial sites in Gladstone, Queensland. You will provide frontline supervision and technical guidance to boilermaker and maintenance crews, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate boilermaker and maintenance teams during shutdown and maintenance activities.
• Supervise structural, piping, fabrication, repair and fixed‑plant maintenance works in line with project specifications and drawings.
• Conduct pre‑starts, toolbox talks and daily work planning, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Monitor productivity, work progress and workforce performance, assisting with resource allocation and job sequencing.

Required profile

• Extensive boilermaker experience in mining, construction or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory capacity.
• Strong leadership, communication and commitment to safety.
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass pre‑employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.

Required skills

• Trade qualification – Boilermaker / Metal Fabricator.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certifications (highly desirable).
• High‑Risk Work licences such as Rigging, EWP, Forklift or Dogging.
