Lead Civil Engineer - Energy

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to drive the civil engineering delivery of renewable energy projects in Queensland. You will oversee the design and coordination of civil infrastructure that supports wind, solar and battery storage assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead civil design packages from concept through detailed design for wind, solar and BESS projects.
• Coordinate with offshore delivery teams to ensure quality, alignment and technical excellence.
• Integrate multidisciplinary inputs (structural, electrical, geotechnical, transmission, environmental, advisory) for seamless project outcomes.
• Manage interfaces between civil works and energy infrastructure such as turbines, solar arrays, BESS facilities and substations.
• Support constructability, staging and contractor engagement with practical, buildable solutions.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to proposals and work‑winning activities, and build client relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering civil design for renewable energy projects, especially wind, solar or BESS.
• Strong technical capability in tracks, access roads, pavements, hardstands, earthworks and drainage design.
• Experience coordinating civil interfaces with transmission lines, substations and wind farm infrastructure.
• Ability to lead and coordinate distributed or offshore design teams while maintaining quality and schedule.
• Sound knowledge of Australian standards, design guidelines and client requirements in the energy sector.
