Junior Fashion Designer

About the role

Unreal Fur, a leading Australian vegan fashion brand, is looking for a talented Junior Fashion Designer to join its creative team in Melbourne. You will support the design and production of cruelty‑free apparel and accessories, ensuring high‑quality standards throughout the seasonal development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing seasonal ranges across woven, knitwear, outerwear and accessories.
• Source fabrics that meet quality standards while staying within cost targets.
• Cost products, negotiate with suppliers and maintain accurate spec sheets.
• Measure samples, attend fittings and ensure timelines are met.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with internal teams and external suppliers.

Required profile

• Formal qualification in fashion or textiles design.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a similar junior design role.
• Based in Melbourne with the right to work full‑time in Australia.
• Strong eye for detail, quality and consistency.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to follow direction.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
