Group Finance Manager

About the role

The Group Finance Manager will lead financial accounting, statutory reporting and audit for a growing not‑for‑profit organisation. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage month‑end close, balance‑sheet integrity and external audit across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, journal approvals, and group consolidations for several entities.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, fixed‑asset accounting, and balance‑sheet reconciliation framework.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards and coordinate external audit activities.
• Support tax compliance (income tax, GST, BAS, payroll tax, FBT) and contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting.
• Drive automation, systems improvement and finance transformation initiatives, acting as the key finance stakeholder for ERP enhancements.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with recent manager‑level experience in a Big 4 or mid‑tier audit firm, or equivalent financial accounting leadership.
• Strong technical accounting capability, experience with complex group structures, consolidations and statutory reporting under Australian standards.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of Financial Accountants, providing coaching and ensuring high‑quality output.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite exposure is highly regarded.
• Interest and experience in automation and AI tools to improve finance processes.
