Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join Rydges Sydney Airport, part of EVT. The role will oversee all financial functions of the hotel, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance and effective cash management.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly P&L and balance sheet, reviewed with the General Manager and Area Financial Controller.
• Maintain general ledger reconciliations, cashbook (bank reconciliation) and investigate variances daily.
• Oversee payroll preparation, ensure compliance with award provisions, tax legislation and HR regulations, and lodge statutory returns (GST, FBT, etc.).
• Manage accounts payable: authorise invoices, reconcile creditor statements and process EFT/cheque payments.
• Supervise purchasing procedures, monthly stock takes and cost‑of‑sales calculations.
• Review guest ledger and delinquent debtors, taking action to collect outstanding balances.

Required profile

• Experience producing monthly financial statements and managing general ledger reconciliations.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, statutory compliance and ability to prepare GST/FBT returns.
• Proficiency in accounts payable, invoice authorisation and creditor reconciliation.
• Ability to monitor cashbook, investigate variances and maintain accurate bank reconciliations.
• Experience handling accounts receivable, guest ledger reviews and debt collection.
