Experienced Accountant – Sydney

About the role

A&J Australia is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Sydney team. This full‑time, on‑site position will support the finance function of a leading manufacturer of plastic bottles and packaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and monitor budget performance.
• Complete tax submissions and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve financial processes and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Australian accounting regulations.
• Experience in the manufacturing or packaging industry is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Experience using ERP systems.
