Electrical Supervisor

About the role

Laing O'Rourke is looking for an Electrical Supervisor to join the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance, a project led by Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, traffic management technology and Melbourne's first dedicated busway. The supervisor coordinates electrical construction activities to deliver safe, compliant and efficient project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise site operations and subcontractor performance to achieve project objectives and milestones.
• Promote a strong safety culture through hazard identification, risk management and compliance with legislative and company requirements.
• Plan and coordinate site resources, including labour, materials, plant, equipment, permits and work activities.
• Build relationships with clients, project teams, suppliers and subcontractors through clear communication.
• Lead site teams through pre-starts and toolbox talks.
• Manage project risks and implement practical solutions to improve delivery and productivity.
• Ensure all works meet applicable safety standards and project specifications.

Required profile

• Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence and relevant trade qualification.
• Previous construction delivery experience in the construction/infrastructure industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading subcontractors, suppliers and direct workforce personnel.
• Experience in commissioning and permit-to-work procedures.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical installations and Australian standards.
• Leadership, planning, stakeholder engagement and people management skills.
• Excellent client interface, coordination, time management and safety leadership skills.
