Diesel Mechanic - Fleet & Agricultural Machinery

About the role

A regional team is looking for a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic to work on fleet vehicles and agricultural machinery. The position is permanent and full-time, offering hands-on work across different vehicle types and the chance for long-term career growth.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing to identify mechanical and electrical faults
• Service, repair and replace diesel engines, transmissions, steering, braking and lighting systems
• Carry out preventative maintenance on light vehicles, prime movers and agricultural machinery, including cotton pickers
• Conduct test drives to check vehicle safety and performance
• Maintain service records, job cards and parts inventory
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and workshop procedures
• Keep the workshop clean, safe and well organised

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a heavy diesel vehicle mechanic
• Trade qualification in mechanical, automotive or heavy vehicle engineering
• Proven experience in diesel diagnostics, servicing and repairs
• Valid driver's licence

• Diesel diagnostics, troubleshooting and problem solving
• Good IT skills with diagnostic tools and systems
• Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities, and good verbal and written communication

Pay is quoted as AUD 40-45 per hour depending on experience.
