Chief People Officer
Culture Amp · Melbourne
Job description
About the role
Culture Amp is seeking a senior leader to head its People Experience function across four countries. You will shape strategy, drive AI adoption, and represent the company publicly while ensuring flawless delivery of HR services.
Key responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve People Experience cycles including performance, engagement, compensation, talent acquisition, capability and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on structure, senior hiring and compensation decisions.
- Represent Culture Amp at global events, customer conversations and sales engagements, building credibility with HR leaders.
- Lead AI initiatives personally, set governance, and drive company‑wide adoption of AI tools.
- Act as “Customer Zero,” using Culture Amp’s own platform to influence product development and provide actionable feedback to R&D.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading a people function at scale in a global, multi‑country organization, preferably through significant change.
- Track record of building high‑performing teams that operate independently of day‑to‑day detail.
- Strong organisational judgement on structure, senior talent and intervention timing.
- Willingness to challenge senior leaders early and consistently, with evidence of successful outcomes.
- Hands‑on expertise with AI tools, having built solutions and established governance that enables adoption.
- Distinct, defensible view on the future of work and ability to articulate it to HR audiences.
- Readiness to engage commercially – joining customer calls, answering practitioner questions and speaking at events.
- Motivation to have internal HR practices visible externally.
- Experience in tech or SaaS environments is a plus, though not mandatory.
What we offer
- Competitive salary with equity through an Employee Share Option Program.
- Learning programs, coaching and quarterly refresh days.
- Extended end‑of‑year break, monthly wellbeing allowance and five annual social impact days.
- Inclusive parental leave from day one.
- MacBook and budget for a home workspace.
- Medical insurance for you and your family (US & UK only).
