Assistant Fresh Manager

About the role

The Assistant Fresh Manager supports the Fresh department in delivering a consistently good shopping experience. This entry‑level leadership position is part of Woolworths Group’s Store Leadership Pathway, offering hands‑on experience in department operations and team management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Department Manager in daily store operations, stock replenishment and merchandising.
• Ensure a safe environment for customers and team members by following store safety procedures.
• Engage with customers using Everyday ACTs – Acknowledge, Care & Thank.
• Collaborate with other departments to create a seamless shopping experience.
• Support team members through coaching, scheduling and performance feedback.

Required profile

• Strong desire to learn department operations and support the team.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
• Interest in developing a personal leadership style.
• Commitment to safety and customer service excellence.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of retail processes and stock handling.
