APAC Settlement/Payment Risk Credit Officer

About the role

The APAC Settlement/Payment Risk Credit Officer reports to the Head of APAC Credit and is responsible for monitoring and approving settlement credit exposures across the APAC region. This position is part of State Street’s Financial Risk function, acting as a second line of defense.

Key responsibilities

• Globally monitor and approve settlement credit exposures, including Daylight and End‑of‑day overdrafts.
• Assess funding availability, evaluate risk rationales for exceptions, and communicate remediation actions.
• Perform daily monitoring of exposures, review transaction exceptions, and escalate material risks.
• Review and approve Daylight Overdraft Approval Memos for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore sites.
• Respond to Boston credit risk requests and FLOD settlement credit queries.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, support FRB reporting, and escalate issues to senior credit leaders.
• Make credit decisions within delegated authority, adhering to State Street’s risk appetite and policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Credit Analyst or Credit Officer.
• Strong credit analysis experience with emphasis on settlement/payment risks.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities under tight time constraints.
