Account Manager – Underground Mining Solutions

About the role

Komatsu is seeking an Account Manager to support its underground mining business in Queensland, Australia. The role will manage customer relationships, drive commercial growth and deliver lifecycle solutions for underground coal equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen and expand relationships with underground coal customers.
• Develop and execute data‑driven account strategies to increase revenue, market share and profitability.
• Identify and pursue opportunities across equipment, parts and lifecycle services.
• Analyse market dynamics, competitor activity and mine ownership changes to inform decisions.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for both operational and commercial customer priorities.
• Lead internal stakeholders to deliver a consistent “one face to customer” approach.
• Collaborate with operations, service, parts, engineering and product teams to provide integrated solutions.
• Adapt quickly to changing site conditions, customer requirements and market shifts.

Required profile

• Experience in account or service management within underground mining or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of underground coal equipment such as continuous miners, shuttle cars, feeder breakers and longwalls.
• Proven ability to grow customer portfolios and deliver commercial outcomes.
• Capability to engage in both operational and strategic conversations with customers.
• Experience working across multiple business functions to deliver cohesive outcomes.
• Confidence using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, to manage pipelines and insights.
