Account Manager - Sydney (Field-Based)

About the role

Rockcote, a family-owned Australian manufacturer of render, texture coatings and architectural coating systems, is looking for a customer-focused Account Manager for its NSW team. The role is based in Sydney and focuses on Sydney and the Northern Beaches, with regular travel across the core territory and ad-hoc travel beyond it, including between Sydney and Port Macquarie. You will work with distributors, renderers and applicators, supporting projects from opportunity through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Grow existing accounts by increasing sales, expanding product use and strengthening account profitability.
• Build trusted partnerships with distributors, renderers and applicators, acting as a reliable point of contact for Rockcote.
• Identify new customers, projects and sales opportunities within the territory.
• Visit distributor stores, customers and project sites to support product selection, explore opportunities and help with basic technical enquiries.
• Work with the Business Development Manager to transition new projects and manage smaller or established projects.
• Manage samples, orders, enquiries and follow-ups, coordinating with sales, technical, production and logistics teams.

Required profile

• Experience in rendering, coatings, construction, building products or a related trade, or a strong background in sales, account management or customer relationship management, with the ability to learn technical products.
• Natural ability to build genuine, long-term customer relationships.
• Commercial mindset and confidence to pursue sales opportunities.
• Good organisation, problem-solving skills and reliable follow-through.
• Australian driver's licence and ability to travel throughout the territory, including occasionally beyond the core area.
