Tug Engineer – Casual Opportunities (Fremantle & Kwinana)

About the role

Svitzer is seeking experienced Tug Engineers to join a pool of casual crew members for future towage operations in the Fremantle and Kwinana ports. This role offers flexible, short‑notice work supporting safe vessel movements across busy harbour environments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service all onboard machinery, including main engines and deck equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Assist with safe winch operation during towage assignments.
• Identify, record, and report defects to keep vessels operational.
• Prepare maintenance logs and operational reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, regulations, and company policies.
• Support deck crew when needed and participate in drills and training.

Required profile

• Minimum Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).
• Valid AMSA medical certificate matching the competency.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Strong focus on safety and procedural compliance.
• Ability to work flexibly with short‑notice availability.
• Legal right to live and work in Australia.
