Training Lead

About the role

As the Training Lead for Austal Defence Australia, you will drive Operational Support & Training outcomes across a major shipbuilding programme, ensuring crews are ready to safely operate and maintain mission systems throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop procedures, training inputs and readiness plans up to customer hand‑over.
• Design and deliver integrated training programmes and materials to enable safe, effective system operation.
• Align design, training and compliance activities, meeting audit and programme requirements.
• Lead the creation of compliant, fit‑for‑purpose technical documentation.
• Track and improve training and operational performance to maintain readiness.

Required profile

• TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading training delivery and coordinating instructors in complex or technical environments.
• Background in maritime, defence or similar operational settings.
• Experience developing training programmes, procedures and technical documentation.
• Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance.
