Trainer & Assessor – Diploma of Community Services

About the role

Southern Cross Education Institute is looking for an experienced Trainer & Assessor to deliver the Diploma of Community Services. The position can be full‑time or part‑time, working five or three days a week on‑site at our North Melbourne campus.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver classes in line with relevant training standards.
• Mark student assessments and update results in the student management system.
• Provide timely feedback and support to students.
• Liaise with administration to keep student records current.
• Engage in professional development to maintain industry currency.
• Collect student feedback and work with the Training Manager to resolve issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services or a related discipline.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• 3–4 years experience in the community services sector (excluding support work).
• Proven ability to motivate and coach adult learners.
• Proactive and positive teaching approach.
