Trainer and Assessor – Mining Operations

About the role

Ora Banda Mining is seeking an experienced Trainer and Assessor to join the team at the Davyhurst Gold Mine. The role is based on‑site and operates on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or a BIBO schedule from Kalgoorlie, supporting both new hires and existing staff across mining and processing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver competency‑based training and practical assessments for all employees and contractors.
• Coordinate and complete Verification of Competencies (VOC) processes.
• Conduct site observations to evaluate the practical application of training and identify improvement areas.
• Model and reinforce HSET (Health, Safety, Environment, and Training) standards and behaviours.
• Develop and deliver induction, onboarding, and ongoing development programs.
• Provide training support to Processing Plant trainers and manage both in‑house and external training delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a site‑based mining or processing environment (open cut or underground).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122).
• Current High Risk Work Trainer qualifications and licences (cranes, rigging, dogging, scaffolding, EWP, forklift).
• Manual HR driver’s licence.
• Current first aid and CPR certification.
