Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager reports to the Head of Tax and is responsible for ensuring Potentia Energy meets all Australian tax compliance obligations. The role covers a complex investment structure with multiple entities, joint‑venture arrangements and downstream investments, requiring coordination with internal finance teams, external advisors and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end delivery of all Australian tax compliance obligations, including preparation and filing of federal, state and local income tax returns, GST, withholding taxes and OECD Pillar Two obligations.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, applying appropriate review controls.
• Maintain high‑quality working papers, tax records and documentation to support filings and audits.
• Review and manage indirect tax filings such as BAS, IAS and property taxes.
• Prepare and review tax effect accounting, including half‑year and year‑end reporting under AASB 112.
• Manage external financial and tax audits and provide guidance on tax matters affecting the business.
• Coordinate with internal AFC teams, outsourced asset managers, joint‑venture partners and external advisors.

Required profile

• Strong coordination skills across diverse stakeholders.
• Experience managing tax compliance, reporting and planning for a large, complex corporate structure.
• Ability to ensure adherence to federal, state and local tax laws while optimizing the company’s tax position.
• Capability to support strategic business decisions with tax expertise.
