Structural Engineer – Power Generation (Sydney)

About the role

Aurecon is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Power Generation team in Sydney. You will work on a diverse portfolio of energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage, and transmission, delivering innovative structural solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and steel structures across power generation projects.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, reports, and technical specifications using hand methods, spreadsheets, or software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements from feasibility to detailed design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and internationally to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to project delivery and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of local experience on energy or power generation projects.
• Working towards chartership or already a chartered engineer.
• Proficient in Australian Standards for structural design.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Reinforced concrete design.
• Structural steel design.
• Structural analysis using hand calculations, spreadsheets, or software such as Spacegass, SAFE, Strand7, IdeaStatica.
• Preparation of technical documentation and design reports.
