Specialist Cancer Care Pharmacist – Temporary Full-Time

About the role

Join the Cancer Services team at Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, Campbelltown Hospital, as a Specialist Cancer Care Pharmacist on a temporary full‑time basis. You will be the primary pharmacy contact for the oncology and haematology clinical service, supporting complex medication regimens and contributing to optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients, including medication review, dosing optimisation and adverse‑effect management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient‑specific treatment plans.
• Act as a point of contact for the satellite pharmacy, ensuring safe dispensing and supply of high‑risk cytotoxic drugs.
• Supervise and mentor junior pharmacy staff and pharmacy students.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement, audit activities and professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• Full registration with AHPRA and no restrictions on scope of practice.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting.
• At least 12 months experience as a clinical pharmacist in cancer care services (oncology or haematology).
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, accurate documentation and ongoing professional learning.
