Site Supervisor

About the role

Barpa, an Indigenous‑owned construction company, is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead work fronts on a range of commercial projects across Australia. Reporting to the Site/Project Manager, you will coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and help keep the programme on track.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors across assigned work fronts.
• Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Drive compliance with HSE requirements, SWMS, toolbox talks and site procedures.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity and raise programme or quality concerns as needed.
• Assist in maintaining short‑term construction programmes aligned with the master schedule.
• Arrange plant, materials and trade sequencing to minimise delays.
• Support quality inspections, defect management and non‑conformance rectification.
• Manage day‑to‑day stakeholder interactions, including subcontractors, consultants and the public.
• Provide site administration support such as meeting minutes, HSE records and QA documentation.

Required profile

• 4–8 years’ experience in commercial construction.
• Relevant tertiary qualification, trade qualification or strong industry experience.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts while maintaining programme productivity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Proactive identification and escalation of construction, design or safety risks.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑collaboration capability.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to use a variety of software.
