About the role
The Queensland Family & Child Commission is hiring two Senior Regulatory Officers to strengthen its Triage and Monitoring & Investigations teams. In this senior position you will support the Child Safe Organisations division by delivering high‑quality regulatory activities, analysing data, and providing evidence‑based recommendations to protect children.
Key responsibilities
- Manage enquiries from the public and organisations, ensuring timely and accurate information.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, allocating or re‑allocating enquiries as needed.
- Participate in group decision‑making, critically analyse evidence and risk, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Provide high‑level verbal and written advice on compliance with the Child Safe Organisations Act.
- Apply policies, procedures and guidelines, maintain accurate regulatory records, and prepare investigation briefs for senior leadership.
- Update the CSO case management system with proportionate, risk‑based responses to safeguarding concerns.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in regulatory or compliance roles, preferably within government or child‑safety contexts.
- Strong knowledge of the Child Safe Organisations Act and related legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse evidence, assess risk, and make sound, risk‑based decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to cultural safety and child‑centred regulatory practice.
