Senior Kafka Developer – Java & Spring Boot

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Kafka Developer with deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot and real-time streaming platforms. The role focuses on designing and delivering event-driven integration solutions for enterprise applications, leveraging Apache Kafka and related technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement custom integration services using Java and Spring Boot to connect source systems.
• Build, configure and maintain Kafka producers, consumers and event-driven services on Apache Kafka / Confluent Cloud.
• Develop Flink SQL stream-processing jobs for data transformation, enrichment, routing, validation and de-duplication.
• Integrate Schema Registry for schema validation and enforce message governance.
• Implement REST/API integrations and manage Kong Gateway communication.
• Configure HTTP sink integrations, handle payload mapping, retries and failure handling.
• Write unit, component and support SIT/E2E tests; troubleshoot defects and perform replay activities.
• Collaborate with downstream teams to resolve integration and Kafka topic issues.
• Use GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and release support.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing enterprise-grade Java applications with Spring Boot.
• Strong background in Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud and Kafka Connect.
• Hands-on experience with Flink SQL or similar stream-processing frameworks.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Kong API Gateway and schema management.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
