Senior Designer

About the role

Blaklash is seeking a Senior Designer to join its Brisbane team. The role focuses on creating culturally‑responsive built environment solutions for First Nations communities, blending strategic thinking, community engagement, and spatial design.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing design concepts, reports, presentations and project documentation.
• Support and participate in community engagement and co‑design processes.
• Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, artists, consultants and community stakeholders.
• Help project leads resolve design challenges and contribute to delivery.
• Prepare visual communication materials and presentations.
• Participate in workshops, meetings and collaborative design sessions.
• Support internal studio systems, workflows and project coordination.
• Contribute to a positive, thoughtful, team‑oriented studio culture.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years of full‑time built environment industry experience.
• Passionate about working with and for First Nations communities.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative, creative environment.
• Highly self‑directed with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Curious and motivated to continue professional learning and growth.
