Senior Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

MOLONEYS Consulting is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead and deliver key infrastructure projects across Queensland and New South Wales. This position offers high autonomy, direct interaction with decision‑makers, and the chance to shape the firm’s growth while enjoying a balanced lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure such as urban developments, roads, and drainage systems.
• Act as, or progress towards becoming, an RPEQ signatory for project approvals.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
• Build and maintain relationships with councils, Transport and Main Roads (TMR), and private clients.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and repeat work opportunities.
• Support continuous improvement of technical standards and internal systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• RPEQ registration (or eligibility and willingness to obtain).
• 8–10 years of civil consulting experience, preferably with Queensland projects.
• Proven track record delivering infrastructure projects in Australia.
• Strong client‑facing and communication abilities.
• Commercial awareness and proactive mindset.
• C Class Driver’s Licence.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Austroads standards.
• Familiarity with TMR and local council specifications.
• RPEQ registration.
• Civil infrastructure design for urban development, roads, and drainage.
• Project budgeting and cost control.
