Senior Accountant – Public Practice (Melbourne)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our established public practice team in inner Melbourne. The role offers exposure to a diverse client base, including trusts, partnerships and corporations, and provides a pathway to higher‑quality work and larger engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.
• Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Advise on Division 7A, Section 109, UPE and other complex tax matters.
• Assist clients with QBCC Minimum Financial Requirements, Instant Asset Write‑Off and Backing Business Investment strategies.
• Manage company loss carry‑back, personal services income, group structure taxation and inter‑entity issues.
• Provide FBT, CGT, payroll tax, TPAR, STP and ASIC corporate secretarial services.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) with at least 5 years of public practice experience in Australia.
• Strong understanding of trusts, financial statements, taxation returns, BAS and IAS.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex tax advice to a range of clients.
• Motivated, performance‑driven and ready for the next career step.

What we offer
